RICKY JOHN
RICKY JOHN
Ricky John is a carpenter born in South West London. His life took an unpredictable turn and he was forced to live homeless in the streets for years. Music and singing were an inspiration that is brought a deep soul voice to the latest XFactor in the UK. Having been given the Golden Buzzer by Ayda Williams, he set off for LA with the finalists. What’s next? This is only the beginning of a path forward for this father of two.

GET TO KNOW THE ARTIST
When Ricky was young, he went to a car boot sale and bought Marvin Gaye greatest hits. He didn’t know who he was at that point and from the first listen, he’s been his idol and favourite. Ricky has been an avid listener fo 1990’s R&B and Hip Hop stars like Usher, Biggie and Mob Deep. More recently he got back into some of the older classics of soul and blues like BB King, David Bowie and Otis Redding.
Ricky grew up mostly in Kingston and has lived all over due to a constant need to move due to homelessness. Singing and music were his way of letting his pain and frustration out and being able to focus on something good, something deep inside him.
