Patrick Longmore is best known as a lead bassist, but also a producer, writer and teacher. He has collaborated with hit artists and bands as a lead bassist, as a headline hinger, as a keyboardist, a songwriter and a mentor. Patrick has brought his unique blend of Blues, Jazz Funk and Folk to numerous albums.

GET TO KNOW THE ARTIST
On Teish O’Day’s ‘Commitment’ produced by EMI, Patrick and Burt Bacharach were both featured writers and the songs later featured at the ‘London Palladium Burt Bacharach Tribute Show’. Patrick is an integral, founding member of The Island Experiment, the famed Open Mic Night that brings together the world famous with those just starting out. Patrick collaborated with Wade Bayliss to bring The Island Experiment to us, and uses his experience in the industry to accompnay, teach and entertain new artists each week. A growing event, The Island Experiment has been received by Source Magazine and has now spread to The Bumpkin, The Tabernacle and The Earl of Pembroke, and Westbourne Studios. Patrick continues to play bass at all four venues.
Bands: Patrick has also written, played and recorded three albums by The Virtual Jazz Band: He recorded Antidote, wrote tracks for ‘At Last,’ and played and wrote on ‘Rendezvous’ and ‘At Last St. Tropez.’ Virtual Jazz Band is headed up by Wayne Brown, the artistic director of Bucharest’s Jazz Competition, the largest Jazz Festival in Europe. The Virtual Jazz Band was featured on the Jazz FM radio station and website for several months. Patrick and Wayne continue to collaborate on live performances at ‘The Bucharest Jazz Festival.’
Patrick leads music workshops with young people at The Alnany Theatre and has also worked at Alley Cat Studios, where he recorded and promoted new artists. Patrick’s former recording studios, PLJ Studios made history by recording the 1st Acid Jazz album within the UK.
