OUT AND ABOUT

June Rooftop Review

June has seen a shift in gear regarding our song writing and 3 weeks into establishing our team in Africa we produced our first song in the House of Dillie Studio with K A Y A   M I J I K E N D A, a young, talented trio from three different towns across Kenya. We believe that music has no boundaries and this has become especially true in our collaborations which will certainly continue across July.

ROOFTOP SPY - We’ve had plenty of live gigs going on to draw inspiration from a range of artists and locations.

  • Such talents as C I A R A V I Z Z A R D who we caught at Sessions 58 at the start of the month followed by a gorgeous feature set by C E R I A N at Noteworthy, Paper Dress Vintage.

  • Our own B A R R Y L O C K E has been all business as usual clocking a new single scheduled for release on July 5th, writing sessions with some up and coming artists, various open mics which include The Gladstone Arms & Groucho’s as well as featuring at Belushi’s & The Haringay Arms. Did we mention his new single coming out - JULY 5th!

  • B R E E Z Y L E E has been at it. She provided BV for her partners punk band ‘L O S T I N S P A C E’ as well as performing with traveling theatre troupe O C E A N A L L O V E R.

  • We finally made it to a N O I S S E S meet up talking all things branding and marketing which we found oh so useful in this constantly changing market.

  • The Last two live shows for our London team where at Salon Noir to witness the amazing L U C Y W A R R and then just last night at the Islington we saw J O L L Y who where supported by K Y R O S & I H L O

  • Last but not least, we attended the EP Launch of A Y R O S H which quite honestly blew our minds as far as creativity, collaboration and inclusiveness. The launch, hosted at the Michael Joseph Center, included 4 stages splitting the Tha Movements band members made the audience feel as if they were in the show. 5 acts plus showcases of local food and fashion. From spoken word to authentic Kikuyu songwriting, it was truly a night that captivated our attention.

ROOFTOP RELEASE has seen 4 tracks drop this month which includes G E N E R A L  P L A G O ‘ S  ‘Bang Bang’, R I C K Y  J O H N ‘ S Debut single ‘Change Is Gonna Come’, E L I S H A  B L U E ‘ S  debut single ‘For Your Love’ and finally, J A Y G U N ‘ S  ‘Highness’.    Please also check out our Rooftop GUESTS release from T H A  M O V E M E N T’s  'Mwingine'!

What could we possibly have in store for July?  Oh, just wait and see but starting off this week with some big bangs including Anto Neosoul's Night at J's Westlands, Nairobi, new collaborations with Kwame Rigii and the much awaited release, are you ready for the JUMP??
